Maximum Magnum is a mercenary by nature. He spent the majority of his life hunting, killing, and gathering information for anyone who could pay the right price. Normally, he is quiet and observant, but at times he can become very excited about certain things, even though he does his best not to show it. In combat, he seems to become a totally different person. His only joy in life comes from fighting, so it seemed unlikely that he would find hope in LONAC. The main reason he joined, according to him, is that he needed a quiet place to stay for a while. However, the reality is that he is trying to regain the hopes he had as a young Autobot.
Though he was built and programmed as an Autobot, he left because of reasons which, as he says, are irrelevant to others. He is a trained weapons expert, and is learned in many different styles of gunnery.
