As an Insecticon, Earshot has the ability to consume matter and convert it into energon. He is also capable of generating small powerful gusts of wind with his wings. The head of his moth alt-form turns into a laser pistol, which he is able to use in either form. His audio and visual sensors are highly sensitive, and sonic amplifiers in his forearms allow him to create small localized sonic booms.
While Earshot is very adept at flying through space or calm skies, he has little flying ability in extremely rough conditions and is very unmanueverable when entering a planets' atmosphere. Earshot's armor is not resistant enough for sustained attacks, and his wings are especially fragile.
