Once happy, cheerful, and friendly to all, Thrashmane became a completely different person after the Strikers, a group of anti-LONAC Decepticons, kidnapped him. He spent several months barely alive, and his friends had no idea, thanks to a doppelganger convincingly played by Winter. During these long months, he went through a subtle, yet noticeable change. When he was returned to LONAC, he was no longer an advocate of peace: his new goal is defending against, and eventually destroying, all that have and will hurt the members of LONAC, his family. He is especially protective of Slipstream and Sunspot for their past dealings with the Strikers.

One of the first things he did upon returning to LONAC was have one of the medical staff, Outreach, rebuilt his left arm into a powerful and potent plasma cannon. In lion mode his jaws can snap through most metal; any thing caught between them would find it nearly impossible to escape. His right hand, which becomes the mane and head in lion mode, contains a radio-jamming broadcaster, which he use to simultaneously jam enemy transmissions and boost his own.

Although he now may seem like it, Thrashmane still does not like to go into combat without good reason. His plasma cannon, which can almost burn a hole through any material, is highly dangerous because of its very nature. Thrashmane is distrustful of most Decepticon members of the crew.
